The leftovers from the flavors of Gaziantep, which UNESCO included in the \"Creative Cities Network\" in the field of gastronomy, are turned into food and given to stray cats and dogs.<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

Gaziantep Zoo Animal Shelter and Rehabilitation Center team collects the leftovers of meals such as beyran, kebab and kelle pa\u00e7a from restaurants in the city for stray animals.<\/p>\n

The leftovers are transported by vehicles to the center, where they are turned into food in the production facility.<\/p>\n

Preparing about 1 ton of food per day, the teams leave the food at feeding points created for stray cats and dogs in different regions across the city.<\/p>\n

Celal \u00d6zs\u00f6yler, Head of Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Department of Wildlife Protection, told AA correspondent that they take care of the stray creatures in 780 neighborhoods of 9 districts of the city.<\/p>\n

Stating that they carry out the care, treatment and surgery of animals, \u00d6zs\u00f6yler said, \"Last year, we treated and cared for 2 thousand street creatures. In addition, we have 250 feeding points in the city. After the chipping, sterilization and treatment of our street creatures, we leave them at these points.\"<\/p>\n

Stating that they established a new care center for stray animals on an area of 15 thousand square meters in the rural Bur\u00e7 Neighborhood, \u00d6zs\u00f6yler said that they adopted 830 animals last year.<\/p>\n

High protein food for cats and dogs<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pointing out that they established operating rooms, intensive care units and a food production facility at the care center in Bur\u00e7 Neighborhood, \u00d6zs\u00f6yler said:<\/p>\n

\"In Gaziantep, the city of gastronomy, we bring the leftovers of meals with high protein value such as kebabs, meat, beyran and kelle pa\u00e7a to our food production facility to prevent waste and to make food for our street creatures. We produce food here. We produce about 1 ton of food per day. The protein ratio of this food is very high. Of course, our street creatures eat it very fondly. Especially cats eat the food made from kelle pa\u00e7a and beyran with more love.\"<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
