Elazığ Municipality Veterinary Affairs Directorate continues to work to prevent waste and to produce food for our animal friends living in the Temporary Animal Care and Rehabilitation Center.
In this context, the teams of Elazığ Municipality established a Food Production Facility in the Temporary Animal Care Home Rehabilitation Center for our friends living on the streets.
Leftover food collected from public institutions and organizations, hotels, tradesmen and stale bread collected from stale bread bins in neighborhoods are collected by teams at the facility.

TL 3 MILLION SAVED ANNUALLY
In the Food Production Facility, food that passes through various machines using the recycling technique in the presence of food engineers is then transformed into food. In the food production unit for stray animals, 400 kilograms of food is produced in 8 hours. Thus, 3 million TL is saved annually.

"WE PRODUCE APPROXIMATELY 400 KILOGRAMS OF FOOD PER DAY"
Fetih Arslantaş, Elazığ Municipality Veterinary Affairs Director Fetih Arslantaş, who gave information about the food produced, said, "As Elazığ Municipality Veterinary Affairs Directorate, we turn the leftover food and stale bread we collect into food in our Food Production Facility. Our teams collect food from public institutions and organizations, hotels, tradesmen and stale bread from stale bread boxes in the neighborhoods. We first crush the food we collect in the bone crushing machine. Then we bake the leftover food and bones in a 95-degree oven for 8 hours and process them in a pellet machine. Finally, we dry the food in the drying oven and distribute it to street animals. We produce approximately 400 kilograms of food per day. Thus, we save 3 million TL per year. We ask our citizens to throw their stale bread into the box. Those breads are both transformed into food here and given to our friends and waste is prevented. Our canine friends loved the food we produced. We would like to thank our Mayor of Elazığ, Mr. Şahin Şerifoğulları, who has never withheld his support in this project."
